I've been sick all week, and continue to be so, but today was just one of those days where I wanted to write. All my main stories (see the stuff on the sidebar here) weren't looking too amazing for my foggy brain, so I checked for any short story contests with fun prompts.

Came across one with a prompt about a princess fighting a dragon who is hunting her, aaaaand wound up starting a story that's basically a Monster Hunter fan fiction. I loooove the game, and my character is basically a golden and pink princess anyway, so it made sense to do a self insert there. Says me.

Hoping I get over this rotten cold, so I can get back to writing all my other stuff, but hey, this contest has a $50 prize, and I'm not going to turn that down either!

I just noticed last night (but was too tired to make a post) but I've passed ten pages on Eternal Platinum! I'm actually at 13 pages, not too sure when I actually hit the 10, probably over the weekend, but still, hooray! Also, that put me over the 10,000 words overall mark, yeah!!

Also, one of my goals is to write every day for a year, starting with smaller goals. First goal was to hit a week of writing at least 10 words a day. I hit that yesterday. Whoo hoo!

Not to mention, I entered my second short story contest, and one of my goals is to enter more of them, so that's awesome, self!

Little by little, I think I'll hit all of my goals. Some are big, some are small, but we all have to start somewhere. :)

So after waiting around for someone to help me figure it out, I sent out my first short story contest entry!

993 words of TOTAL AWESOMENESS (overselling myself? Nah...) were sent to Havok and I got all jittery and hyper about it, so I stayed up another hour, despite submitting it around two in the morning.

We hear back if we're winners of this theme during the first week of February, so I've got it marked on my planner, and can't wait! Until then, I'll be entering more contests, working on my actual novel(s?) and trying to not go insane from joy every time I enter something. Ha!

I wrote my first short story for a contest!

I'm still waiting on details as to how to ENTER said contest, since the details are a bit odd, but still, go me!

987 words for a contest with a word limit of 1000. Phew. It needs some editing buuut... It's almost 1:30am where I am, so it'll have to wait.

For anyone curious, the contest is by Havok and I've got fingers (and toes) crossed that by some miracle, I win with my first entry. Ha.

If not, it'll be going into my Wattpad short story anthology, that is still to be named. Either way, go me. 🤩
