Eternal, and a writing streak!

I just noticed last night (but was too tired to make a post) but I've passed ten pages on Eternal Platinum! I'm actually at 13 pages, not too sure when I actually hit the 10, probably over the weekend, but still, hooray! Also, that put me over the 10,000 words overall mark, yeah!!

Also, one of my goals is to write every day for a year, starting with smaller goals. First goal was to hit a week of writing at least 10 words a day. I hit that yesterday. Whoo hoo!

Not to mention, I entered my second short story contest, and one of my goals is to enter more of them, so that's awesome, self!

Little by little, I think I'll hit all of my goals. Some are big, some are small, but we all have to start somewhere. :)

Writeathon!

About a week ago, I half seriously, half jokingly, announced that I'd be doing a 24 hour writeathon.

Joke's on me, I've decided to go for it! And with the suggestion of the 85K Writing Challenge folks, anyone is invited. :)

My personal hashtag is #24hrsofstar but I'm also going to make a general one, #24hoursofcatchup, since the point of my writeathon is to catch up to the 85K challenge. I'll be about 30200 words away from the goal (for January) if I don't write another word before then.

BUT, I wrote just under 800 words yesterday for my Epilogue, so hey, at least it's not the full 31000!

My plan is this, start writing at 10am EST on January 31st, and end at 2pm EST on February 1st. I am fully aware that that's 28 hours, not 24! The reason being, I'm giving myself four hours to make food, eat, take my kiddo to his sitter (his grandma is in town, whoo hoo!) and other assorted things. That is, if I need the extra time. Maybe I'll be done long before then, happily asleep. I'm not counting on it though. I'll be closely counting my minutes of "not writing" time, to make sure I'm not cheating.

I' going to try and live stream it, some way or another. I've never live streamed anything before, aside from on Skype, but I want to stream my screen, not my beautiful face.

So far just my husband is joining me (he's dedicated himself to 12 hours, no particular word count) so it would be neat to see ho else joins us, and how well we do as a collective!

First contest, entered!

So after waiting around for someone to help me figure it out, I sent out my first short story contest entry!

993 words of TOTAL AWESOMENESS (overselling myself? Nah...) were sent to Havok and I got all jittery and hyper about it, so I stayed up another hour, despite submitting it around two in the morning.

We hear back if we're winners of this theme during the first week of February, so I've got it marked on my planner, and can't wait! Until then, I'll be entering more contests, working on my actual novel(s?) and trying to not go insane from joy every time I enter something. Ha!

Day One

Didn't get a lot of words done, but I got some words done, so I count it for a win!

231 words of a short story, as an ode to my dear husband, and our becoming a real relationship, after years of doing the long distance thing.

Five years, and going strong!

May we get many, many more.
