My Stories

So everyone talks about their WIP (work in progress) like it's possible to write only one thing at a time. Those people are something else.
Me, on the other hand, am writing FOUR different things right now. Two of which run alongside each other. Not the two you probably would assume. I actually have a fifth story that may or may not merge with one of the existing series (it's in the same universe, but located elsewhere) so there's that too. PLUS, I write short stories for contests. Busy busy crazy lady.

Another problem is, I've got a sixth idea floating around in my head, all thanks to a scentsy bar mixing experiment. It's... strange how my brain works. It'd be about a carnival, but I'm saying no more. Or else I might start writing it in earnest. Ahhh.

I've got two Sailor Moon inspired stories (one that is based on a dystopian edition of our world (Eternal Platinum), one that's just used to having random monster attacks occurring (Gloriously Damaged)), one about a really confused android (I am Early), one about what can happen if the right and wrong people are able to remember certain past lives and the ambitions behind them (this one doesn't have an official title yet, but I've been calling it "And Again"... Meh), as well as a story that's based off of Battle Royale, but takes place on the moon, it goes alongside the Sailor Moon story that's based on our reality in a really lousy future. No title for that one yet.

And now I have that carnival idea. Which I want to work on, and it already has characters forming in my head, and a plot, and ugh. Am I insane? I mean, probably. But how crazy is it to work on six stories simultaneously? Especially when you'll be updating at least two of them as serial novels online??

I feel sorry for whoever I wind up getting as an agent or publisher or whatever. Either they'll love that I have a million ideas, or beg me to slow down. The problem is, this is how my brain works. It's always going in a million directions, and USUALLY I can't follow everything. But no one can stop me from writing. Muah hahaha.

Ahem.

Good luck, to me!

Whoops, another novel.

Somehow I found myself joining a novel writing contest on a site I JUST JOINED on Saturday (today is Monday, for reference) to see who could write the most popular story by the end of March.
I'm out of my mind.

This is actually an old story, that I never wrote anywhere, just hashed out with my husband, out loud. I'm adding a few things to it, since it was more a character profile, than a fleshed out story. Gloriously Damaged, is the name. It's about a regular girl, and an android girl who is going to be trying to kill her. It's a Magical Girls story, like Eternal Platinum, only with the point of view of one of the baddies as well.

I'll post a link to it when I get it posted, for anyone who accidentally comes across my blog. Hi. Whoever you are!

Too many stories?

Is it possible to be working on too many stories?
I have I Am Early, which is slowly but surely being posted on Wattpad. It's no masterpiece, but it lets me put something out into the world, and that's not nothing.

I have Eternal, which is my NaNoWriMo story, as I've come to know it. I've been working on it for every NaNoWriMo (including camps) since I've moved to where we live now, soooo... Almost two years. I have five drafts. It needs to get written, and finished already!

I have what's called "Rune's Story" (not the actual name, it's never had one), which I've worked on for the past ten years. TEN. I've stolen so many elements of it for Eternal now though, so I have no clue what it'll look like whenever I go back to it.

AND NOW, I've dug around to find some of my older stories elsewhere, to check if any of my old stuff on there is worth anything. Naturally, a Sailor Moon fan fic, was the best I had. It showed my age (I was a teenager, lol) but it could be re-done in such a way that it doesn't look obvious. What's a gal to do? Especially since Eternal is a distorted version of Sailor Moon to begin with.

Will I block myself into a corner, doomed to forever write magical girl stuff? (Not that I mind...) Will people be disappointed by Rune's Story (which is actually kind of amazing) when it's NOT the same genre? There's still magic, but not remotely in the same way.

The things I worry about.

And of course, my short stories, that I'm slowly but surely getting out into the world... Maybe I should just embrace being a magic writer. Hmmm...
